Community Parkrun
Connecting a young person with our wider community, HP supported one keen runner to join the local Parkrun event, and staff were soon left behind! Completing the course, they were pleased with their official time and ranking and plan to do it again!
Rugby at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
We were pleased to secure tickets to a major rugby double-header at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, watching both the women’s and men’s matches.
For many young people, it was their first experience of live rugby. The scale of the stadium, the crowd atmosphere and the halftime light show made the outing particularly memorable.
England vs Japan at Wembley
Another much-sought-after trip was the England vs Japan international football at Wembley Stadium.
Our excited young people joined a Brent community group at the match, embracing the experience with enthusiasm and exemplary behaviour, and other guests commented on how polite and respectful they were.
During the event, they also met a young local footballer who had recently signed a professional contract with West Ham United. It was a moment of realisation and greater ambition for some of our group that players come from all communities and all walks of life.
