I moved to the UK from Vietnam, and I was living in a hotel when I got a place at Housing Plus. Chris came to pick me up to move me in.
I was worried back then, because everything was new to me and nothing was easy. The weather was very cold and I didn’t know anyone.
At Housing Plus, everyone gave me a warm welcome. Everything was good at home, and I was happy. I had support to go to college and to learn about everything from cooking to managing money; they were always there when I needed them. I was young and the staff even used to knock on my door to wake me up and make sure I got to college on time!
Now I have my own flat and am doing well paying my bills. I am a technician, and my plan is to save up some money and open my own business. Housing Plus helped me to prepare for this and I still phone Chris for advice sometimes, even though I left several years ago.
