Throughout the month of Ramadan, Housing Plus created space not just for spiritual practice, but for community. A series of evening Iftars were hosted across our settings, offering young people a warm, welcoming environment in which to break their fast. These shared meals were about more than food—they offered moments of reflection, connection and mutual respect during a time of deep personal significance for many.
The gatherings became something to look forward to, where healthy, nourishing meals were served in a calm and supportive atmosphere. Staff and young people came together at the end of each day, building bonds across cultures and experiences while marking the importance of the holy month.

This year, with Eid, Easter and Newroz falling close together, Housing Plus embraced the opportunity to honour the richness of these traditions with a joyful, inclusive celebration. Partnering with Young Roots Youth Club, we wrapped up a season of festivities by hosting a vibrant, community-focused event that brought everyone together.
At the heart of the celebration was the now-famous HP Mocktail Bar, which made a welcome return by popular demand. Run by our young people, the bar featured festive drinks with creative, multicultural twists. One young person, who had previously gained bartending experience at the Young Roots Christmas event, stepped back into the role with confidence.
“It felt good to do it again,” he said. “I remembered everything I learned last time.”
His enthusiasm and growing skill gave the event an extra spark, as he mixed and served colourful mocktails with flair.

The day was filled with food, music, colour and laughter—a celebration not just of individual holidays, but of the shared spirit of inclusion and joy that underpins the Housing Plus approach. It was a reminder that when we honour different traditions side by side, we build something greater than the sum of its parts: a community where everyone belongs.
